First Aid Course

Certified First Aid Course for 2015-16 Season

FBYC intends to run a Certified First Aid Course over the winter months to ensure our operations continue to meet current legislative requirements.

The course is a full day (8 hour) course that will be run on a Saturday. It will be tailored to suit our specific requirements and will provide certification for 2 years. The course caters for 16 people and at this stage we are looking for expressions of interest from all members. However, depending on numbers, preference will be given to those who have undertaken OOD and Race Officer duties in the past along with our growing number of qualified coaches.

If we have sufficient volunteers we may be able to look at running two courses but at this stage we only plan to run one. If you are interested, please email to sail@frenchbay.org.nz with your name and we'll be in touch.

If any current FBYC are already Work Place Certified in first aid, we would also like to hear from you so we can add you to our register of qualified first aiders.

Jollyboat Brass Monkey Series

Torbay, this Sunday, arrive 8:30am

The first of the Jollyboat Brass Monkey Series starts this weekend on Sunday at Torbay Sailing Club. Briefing: 9:30am with a 10:30am start. We suggest all club Jollyboaters co-ordinate their activities and following our successful showing at the Nationals this year we get a reasonable FBYC contingent. Forecast is for cold 10 knot SSW so take your warm stuff!

Alternate Sailing Sunday at FBYC

If anyone is still interested in sailing on Sunday at the club, please contact Paddy at sail@frenchbay.org.nz The tide is at 13:38pm, so if we have sufficient numbers we can look at a 11:30am start (rig) time. Paddy will contact any respondents on Friday to say if we are going ahead. We will need parent support on RIB's if we are to go sailing so when you respond, please indicate if you are available to help.

Help Gavin get to Doha!

Fundraising for NZIODA

Plea help support Gavin in his bid to represent NZL at the Asian Oceania Championship. You can help by bidding on a wide range of discounted items and your spend contributes to the NZIODA's travel pool.

Opti/Starling Sprints (relocated)

Venue changed

The Winter Sprint Series will no longer be held at FBYC this coming weekend as a result of complications with the large number of people training for overseas regattas and the tide time not being perfectly suited to both the training and the proposed racing. Racing has been re-scheduled at Murray's Bay for any of those wishing to take part (arrival time of 12pm).

See you all at Nosh Night!
