Dear Parents and Community Members,
We are sad to announce that Wesley’s Executive Director, Duke Bradley, submitted his resignation to the Board earlier today to accept a position with Fulton County Schools. We have been privileged to have Dr. Bradley serve as our Executive Director for the past three years. During his tenure Dr. Bradley has been a stabilizing force, recruited a pool of talented teaching professionals, and is leaving Wesley in a better position both administratively and financially than when he arrived. Although we will miss Dr. Bradley, this is a great career opportunity for him and reflects the respect he has earned from his peers in both the educational and larger Atlanta community. We wish him nothing but the best.
Notwithstanding Dr. Bradley’s resignation, we want you to know that we have a strong leadership team in place, and it is our expectation that Wesley will continue its mission of educating children to be lifelong and global learners. Previously distributed letters of intent will be honored with fidelity, and faculty and staff can remain assured that positions are secure for the upcoming school year." Dr. Hancock, the current MYP Academy Director, has accepted the Board's invitation to serve as interim Executive Director. Over the next few weeks, the Board will meet with Dr. Hancock to review administrative duties and responsibilities to determine how these functions can best be shared amongst the leadership team. We will then explore the process of finding a long-term Executive Director.
We truly understand the departure of our Executive Director will probably raise lots of questions and may cause a sense of anxiety. Therefore, the Board intends to host an informational meeting for the public before school resumes to answer your questions and share our planning.
Wesley has had tremendous growth over the past few years. This is a great opportunity for Wesley to find a dynamic and innovative leader who will continue to advance and lead Wesley into our next chapter of success.
