Chronos™ - A Multifunctional Response and Stimulus Device

Pre-order Discount Pricing Ends June 30th!

Chronos Product Information Sheet

Chronos is a powerful new USB-based response and stimulus device.  Chronos allows the accurate collection and verification of tactile, auditory, visual, and analog responses along with providing a precise source of audio and generic analog output timing. Chronos features millisecond accuracy and consistent sound output latencies across machines. Chronos includes 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, eliminating the need for a parallel port. All responses collected are synchronous to the E-Prime® time domain. Multiple Chronos devices can be connected to a single PC (E-Prime 2.0 Professional). The Chronos back panel features Kensington lock support to secure the device (lock not included).

Pre-orders placed on or before June 30th will receive a 10% discount. Credit card orders will be processed and billed immediately. You will be notified via UPS when your order has shipped. A quantity discount of 10% will be applied to orders of 5 or more. Orders can be placed in our shopping cart or by contacting our Sales department by email, phone (412-449-0078), or fax (412-449-0079).

The Chronos system includes a microphone, Photo Sensor, and auxiliary I/O breakout cable (2 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 1 analog ground, power (5 V) and digital ground). The Photo Sensor can be used on CRT, LCD, and projection displays to detect stimulus onset events, refreshes, and measure rise and fall times.

The Chronos graphical user interface allows for user-friendly implementation of the system's wide range of features. Chronos also introduces a large set of Task Events to facilitate the design of basic to complex experiments without the use of script (E-Prime 2.0 Professional).

PST at OHBM

PST demonstrated Chronos as well as some of our fMRI hardware solutions at OHBM in Honolulu last week. Many thanks to our users who stopped by our booth! We enjoy talking with our users to get feedback on our products to continue to improve and design future versions.

If you have not seen a demonstration of our Celeritas Fiber Optic Response System and the Hyperion Digital Projection System fMRI products, please check out this visualization in an MR facility.

E-Prime 2.0 Service Pack 2

E-Prime 2.0 SP2 (2.0.10.356) is now available in our Product Service and Support Site downloads area. This service pack is a free update. E-Prime 2.0 SP2 introduces improved stability in E-Studio to decrease occurrences of crashes and HASP driver issues. There is no file format change; users can run SP1 and SP2 experiments in either version. Changes in SP2 only affect the E-Studio application, so there is no concern when considering to update from SP1 to SP2.

The service pack includes an updated HASP driver and several bug fixes.

To view the complete list of bug fixes, please read 5630 E-Prime 2.0 Change History (2.0.10.353 SP1 to 2.0.10.356 SP2).

E-Prime Extension users are able to update to E-Prime 2.0 SP2. More information on E-Prime Extension compatibility is available in Knowledge Base article 5346.

Knowledge Base Moving Soon

We are currently in the process of moving our Knowledge Base over to our new Product Service and Support site. It will be accessible at it's current location until we have fully completed the migration. Our new Knowledge Base has highly improved search functionality and organization. The new Knowledge Base will continue to be public, not requiring a login. Previous end user comments to current Knowledge Base articles will be carried over to the new site.

E-Prime Webinars and Training

In response to your feedback, we will be replacing most of our webinars with 14-day access to E-Prime training videos that cover the same content. This will allow users more time to work along with the training sessions at their own pace. Our MindBites store has been updated with the Intermediate E-Prime training video. Additional videos will be available soon.

E-Prime training is available online, at workshops, in-person at our office in Pittsburgh, PA and at your institution for private training. If you are interested in training at PST or at your institution, contact us.
