Thanks to all who participated in Topeka Gives and to the Topeka Community Foundation which hosted the event. A record breaking $434,016.73 was contributed to local agencies. Of the 131 organizations participating, the library received the ninth largest check for $9,878.63. Out of that amount, $1,458.63 was the library’s match from the Topeka Community Foundation. We had 38 donors, including six brand new contributors supporting the library. Thank you to the many generous library patrons who participated.

New Alice Bookmobile Hits the Streets!

The newest bookmobile in the library’s fleet has just arrived thanks to one couple’s devotion to the library. Margaret and Hugh McCausland’s estate gift was used to make this purchase which will leave a lasting impression on the community.  The “Alice” joins last year’s new bookmobile “Sherlock” which was funded by the library’s literacy partner, the Capitol Federal® Foundation.
