JROTC/ROTC, Continued

In the previous issue of VMAP Working Tools, we asked Valleys to share their JROTC/ROTC successes. Given the overwhelming response, we have decided to dedicate this issue to their stories. Thank you to all the Valleys for your submissions. Here are a few of them.

Valley of Seoul, Korea

On May 29, I had the honor pleasure of presenting the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Southern Jurisdiction medal and certificate to Cadet Jason Hyde during the Pass-In-Review ceremony at the Seoul American High School parade field. Jason is a 2nd year cadet, who is a dedicated member of the color guard, drill team and exhibition drill team as well as being an excellent student. —George Stillwell, 32°, Valley of Seoul, Korea

Bros. Robert Brown, 32°, and Larry Kane, 32°, KCCH, presented the Scottish Rite JROTC Awards to eight Cadets representing eight different High Schools in the El Paso Independent School District. The Valley of El Paso awards 28 JROTC awards to every participating high school with a JROTC program in El Paso County on a yearly basis.

Valley of Houston, TX

The Valley of Houston has participated in the Supreme Council’s JROTC and ROTC programs since it began in 1998. This year’s record breaking participation of over 100 schools is not just members of Houston Independent School District, but also all the School Districts in Harris County and several School Districts from the surrounding counties. Several universities also participate to include the University of Houston and Texas A&M University.

Valley of Martinsburg, WV

The Valley of Martinsburg, WV, held its Annual JROTC Awards Ceremony.  Six Cadets were chosen by their advisers from each of the six high schools in Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, West Virginia.  The Valley was honored to have had the opportunity to present the JROTC Award to these future leaders of our community.
