"The greatest glory of a free-born people is to transmit that freedom to their children." William Havard

Independence Day

I came across this little tidbit of information on a website titled A Hollywood Republican (there is one!)...a May 2011 Harvard study suggests that children who participate in 4th of July celebrations are more likely to become permanent partisan Republicans. Who knew?  And why not? What other holiday is about liberty from a large centralized government with unchecked powers?
The paper concludes
  • Event participation before the age of 18 increases the likelihood of a youth identifying as a Republican by at least two percent (2%)
  • It raises the likelihood that parade watchers will vote for a Republican candidate by four percent (4%)
  • It boosts the likelihood a festivities participant will vote by approximately one percent (1%) and increases the chances they’ll make a political contribution by three percent (3%)
Huh! Take this information and act accordingly.

I wish all of you a safe, happy and healthy weekend! I hope you will continue to join us every month at Douglas County Republican Party to celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
