SOLAR IMPULSE RTW UPDATE #17
Ocean Crossing To Hawaii: Morning PROGRAM - Day 4

#LIVE at 18:00 UTC. This is your daily morning update!

On June 28th, Si2 took off at 18:03 UTC from Nagoya, with André at the controls, for its third attempt to make a historical oceanic flight non-stop to Hawaii.

Si2 has made it through three full cycles, completing a 3 days and 3 nights flight, and consequently the longest ever solo and solar flight. André's son, Deniz, arrived at the MCC and will make an appearance on SiTV. André Borschberg has been going through extreme conditions, high altitude and changing temperature. What are his methods to remain in good shape? How is the cockpit insulated and what was the development process?

This is a historic first. We are demonstrating that human commitment and clean technologies can achieve the impossible: flying across an ocean on solar power only. Still, we need your support. Add your voice on futureisclean.org to ensure that our airplane will make a real difference.

We demonstrated that a solar-powered airplane can fly day and night without fuel. The challenge is now to fly around the world in 2015.
