Would you like to be part of the fun at next year's
National Folk Festival in Canberra?

Easter, 2016

Since the Celtic Piping Club’s inception two years ago, we’ve been privileged to showcase our wonderful range of Celtic bagpipes at many festivals and events through workshops, presentations and concerts.

This year was the Club's first time at the 'National'. Four of our pipers hosted a Pipers’ Gathering demonstration and piping session, where we were joined by about 20 other pipers, making it a lot of fun. All of our pipers also performed at blackboard concerts with other groups – take another look at Newsletter 23 for a full report.

The opportunity arises once again for us to apply for the National Folk Festival in 2016.

If you’d like to be part of our contingent to the National, then we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for 6-8 pipers or so.

We know its short notice, but as applications close very soon, please email us at email@celticpipingclub.com by Wednesday 8 July indicating:

1) your availability (Thu 24 Mar to Mon 28 Mar - an early Easter in 2016!),
2) your willingness to participate in workshops, demonstrations / presentations or concert performances,
3) what pipes (or other instruments) you play, and
4) list any other bands or groups you are involved with that are also applying to the Festival.

We’re also keen to hear about any other ideas you may have for our application.

For those of you who haven't been to the NFF before, performers are usually provided a ticket, discounted partner ticket and a camping site (usually unpowered). Other options may be available, but that is negotiated upon a succesful application. The Club would also receive a modest performance fee.

Although we'll try our best to accommodate everyone, unfortunately we cannot guarantee a place at this stage or that we’ll even get in, nor is it binding if your plans change. Don't feel like you have to be an 'ace' player either. We will tailor our various presentations to the pipers available. We will let you know if we’ve been successful and keep you informed on how our application progresses.

This will be the first of many opportunities open for all pipers to participate in our public showcases. We welcome you to join us look forward to some tunes with you soon!
