Summer Reading
The treasure chest is in great demand this month, as children complete activities on their game sheet and claim their prizes. If you haven’t strolled through the Storywalk yet, be sure to do so before the end of the month. Take a break at the Hero Hangout with some creative activities. Don’t forget to submit an entry for the Guessing Jar contest. This is summer in the Youth Room! Activities and programs with our “Every Hero Has a Story” theme have filled our summer with all kinds of heroic exploits. There is still time to join the fun before we close with our ice cream social starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 7. The Saline Fiddlers will perform from 4-5 p.m.
Check out the Summer Reading Brochure for more information on all these programs and more! |

Book Bash
Summer Reading may be in full swing, but the end is also in sight – the Book Bash is coming! Our program room will be filled with all sorts of books during the week of August 10 - 16. Every young patron who has completed a self-assigned reading goal (and we hope that is everyone!) will receive a ticket to enter the Book Bash. The ticket may be exchanged for any book in the room. We would like to see everyone go home with a new book. |

Help Design the Library's Future
Help us design the future of public library service for the Bloomfield Township Public Library! The Library is in the process of gathering information in order to create a new strategic plan. One of the most important pieces of that process is gathering input from the community. We want to hear the thoughts and opinions of our residents and users.
We are planning a series of focus groups targeting different Bloomfield Township community groups. Please join a focus group session dedicated to hearing from Bloomfield Township parents and educators immediately following Family Story Time on August 4, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. at the Library in the Story Room. Refreshments will be served. Expect an informal conversation about what you want to see at your Library. The meeting will last about 75 minutes.
Please RSVP by Friday, July 31 to Tera Moon at moontera@btpl.org or 248-642-5800. |
