DC Comics Convergence event brought back EVERY DC Universe that ever existed. That opens up the possibility for writers to tell stories set in the pre-Flashpoint, Flashpoint, or any other universe. Many believed DC would be unifying into one universe/timeline, but they went another direction. They are also dropping the New 52 title. Now everything will have the DC You moniker. They have made some preview videos covering their different genres. The different videos can be seen below:

Marvel Comics changes

Secret Wars

Marvel is in the midst of Secret Wars. The Marvel 616 (main) Universe is colliding with the Marvel Ultimate Universe,. which destroys both. Pieces of the two universes are mysteriously saved and combined with other post collision universes creating the "Battleworld."Marvel will be premiering their "All-New, All-Different" line of titles at the conclusion of Secret Wars.

Pop-Culture in Las Cruces TV Show

Jack Lutz and Troy Stegner have teamed up to bring you a weekly pop-culture TV show. Talk Nerdy to Me airs every Saturday/Sunday at 10:00am on Comcast channel 98. Do not fret if you don't have Comcast. The shows are uploaded every Monday to YouTube. The shows will also be uploaded to Facebook, but a week later. If video isn't your thing you can download the show as a podcast here or search for us on ITunes.

LC3 has had a coupla cancellations. The first was artist Arthur Suydam. The second was Adam West. We have secured a new artist which I am sure everyone will love. Jae Lee will be our featured artist. If you're not familiar with his work, just Google his name. Jae will be making an exclusive piece of art for us to use on our Events Guide, flyers, and posters. You will want to hang on to these items as they are the only times you will see this particular piece of art. We are working tirelessly to find another featured celebrity, but rest assured we will find a great one.

The convention center layout will be a bit different this year as well. There will be more interactive things for you to enjoy. We will also have an exclusive sneak peek of the movie "Brothers James Retribution". This movie is being produced by 2 El Paso filmmakers, Frank Powers and Aaron Morga.

Borderland Nerdiness

EPCon has confirmed dates, April 15-17, 2016. It WILL be held in the El Paso Convention Center. We have big plans for El Paso Comic Con and hope to grow it into a Comic Con the city can be proud of. Ticket and booth sales will not go live until near the end of the year.

Zia Comics has started an opt-in text list. We will be having text only sales and specials using this service. All you have to do is show the text to the cashier and you will receive the special.
