Canal Festival 2015
We really love getting involved with fun local events! Pictured above to the left is Committee members Isla and Charlotte with our stall at the Canal Festival last weekend. It was the perfect day for a stroll along the canal and if you watched the raft race you may have caught our speedy little raft also pictured above. In June, we teamed up some volunteers who built the vessel which carried Isla and Duarte (a dedicated volunteer) past the finish line in 2nd place! We could have happily floated along the canal all day and we’ve already got ideas for next year!

Boroughmuir School First Year Art Club took part in a competition to design a new Dig-in tote bag and we went along to the school to announce the winners. Entries were displayed in the shop and our customers voted on the winning design. Congratulations to Catherine Milne and Rachel Baker who won a voucher for Edinburgh Art Shop. Well done! Pick up your own and be proud of where you shop!

Blacketyside Scottish soft fruit available now

We’re now stocking Blacketyside Scottish raspberries and blackberries to join their strawberry friends. We like to eat them on their own, in a picnic under the sun or blended up in a fruity smoothie. Try blending raspberries, blackberries and strawberries with some banana, kale and some milk or alternative to make a deliciously nutritious drink.

The Real Junk Food Project Edinburgh

Ever wondered what we do with our food which cannot be sold? Well, we got on board with a group of volunteers who come and collect our perfectly delicious but slightly past it food. The Real Junk Food Project Edinburgh “intercept†food all over the city before it gets to bins and use it to make delicious spreads for their pop-up cafes and communal dinners. Have you tried our produce from Cyrenians Farm? Their fruits, vegetables and herbs are very tasty, good for you and come from an amazing social enterprise! The farm is home to volunteers and vulnerable young people and provides them as well as people in the local community with all kinds of opportunities to thrive.
