WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS

En-flightened Flow + Handstand Intro
Float and fly through this extended vinyasa class, invigorating your body, awakening new muscles, and breathing a sense of playfulness into your practice. Learn new transitions and discover opportunities to incorporate inversions and arm balances into your regular practice. All levels are always welcome.

Open Heart, Open Mind!

We so easily find ourselves caught up on just one path or swirling the same old circles with the same old narratives. Use this expansive, expectation shattering practice to break out of old habits and start moving in new directions! We will focus on a number of heart opening postures and take them to unexpected places of movement in our bodies. Expect to leave class with a new sense of space and a light hearted mindset.

Getting Hip to Handstands

Breakdown handstand from the ground up, focusing on alignment and full body activation. Great for beginners and more advanced practitioners looking to strengthen the foundations of their handstand practice. Get ready to take flight as we build the strength, knowledge and confidence to take your practice in a new direction!

WHO IS PATRICK BEACH?

Patrick Beach is a yoga instructor who trained under Annie Carpenter, and Brock and Krista Cahill. Those familiar with Annie, Brock and Krista will appreciate Patrick’s inspired blend of their teachings with his own in-depth knowledge of alignment and zeal for playing upside-down.

Patrick’s own yoga journey started from a bet with his dad about learning to do a handstand. That fateful wager led Patrick to find the invigorating freedom and joy of balancing upside-down, and has kept him coming back to his mat each day. Now sharing that discovery with his students, he teaches a fluid power vinyasa yoga that emphasizes strength, flexibility and a constant sense of play and adventure. Patrick believes yoga is an exploration of personal enlightenment and loves being a guide for students taking their own unique journey.

Usually finding a spot to float wherever and whenever, Patrick takes his teaching on the road for workshops. Patrick and his trusty handstand have been featured in both Yoga Journal and Origin Magazine and the engaging content he creates on YouTube, Instagram and tumblr. His stomping grounds of Seattle give him (and kittens Zelda and Opie) time to catch-up on Game of Thrones, read comics, enjoy the vibrant indie music scene, and of course, to focus on his own dedicated yoga practice.

PATRICK'S SIGNATURE STYLE

Strength. Flexibility. Balance. Mental Toughness. Focus. Breath.
Patrick Beach integrates these six aspects in his signature approach to power yoga. He teaches vigorous vinyasa classes that emphasize building strength, creating flexibility, encouraging play, and learning to float. His classes are a fluid mix of longer holds and crafty flows that forge a deep mind-body connection. Patrick’s caring and intelligent teaching style makes yoga relatable for all levels of modern-day students. Longtime yogis familiar with his teachers, Annie Carpenter, and Brock and Krista Cahill will appreciate the blend of those teachings with Patrick’s own in-depth knowledge of alignment and his flair for creative sequencing built from a dedicated personal practice.

Patrick will prepare you for take-off--his classes ignite a sense of adventure in even the most hesitant practitioner, and he loves to teach students how to safely play upside-down. Whether beginner or advanced, students can get ready to step outside their comfort zone with sequences that keep them guessing and have been known to lead to empowering “ah-ha!” moments. Ever calm and comfortable on his feet and on his hands, Patrick transmits confidence to his students. Many attest to a once-feared pose transforming into their favorite under Patrick’s guidance.

Each breath and posture becomes an opportunity for his students to unearth their own power. Patrick hopes that as his students rediscover their mind-body connection they will find the inspiration to explore their world from a new and emboldened perspective.
