There is still time to join the Civic Engagement Track! CET is an all-day civic engagement track that will be happening alongside the OCA general workshops on Saturday, July 4, 2015. CET will explore community organizing, local voter turnout campaigns, and the planning the successful execution of voter engagement efforts.

OCA National is offering:
(1) Free ticket to the Chapter Awards Luncheon (aka Chapter Of The Year Luncheon)
(2) a $200 rebate for attendance (Full Package Registration is $375) and
(3) Up to $400 reimbursement for travel booked after June 1, 2015.

The event will be running all night into the early morning so come as early or as late as you want! There is no charge for this event, but we will be taking donations throughout the night. Suggested donation of $10 per person at the door. All donations and portion of proceeds from sales of art, food & drink, and raffle will benefit non-profit Live to Love International and its work rebuilding Nepal following the recent devastating earthquakes. Live to Love is working to rebuild homes, transport aid to villages, purchase first aid kits and medical supplies, and build a community hall. TRAILBLAZER AWARD

The Honorable Betty T. Yee
California State Controller

State Controller Betty T. Yee was elected in November 2014, following two terms of service on the Board of Equalization. As Controller, she continues to serve the Board as its fifth voting member. Ms. Yee was first elected to the Board of Equalization in 2006 where she represented 21 counties in northern and central California.  She was elected to her second four-year term in 2010. RISING STAR AWARD
 
Jenny Yang

Jenny Yang is a Los Angeles-based writer and stand up comedian who produces the first-ever (mostly) female, Asian American standup comedy tour, Dis/orient/ed Comedy and has been a writer and performer on the viral Buzzfeed videos "If Asians Said the Stuff White People Say" (over 8 million views), "What if Adults had Tantrums Like Toddlers?" and the "Ask An Asian" video series. Jenny was dubbed one of Los Angeles' "most fascinating people" of 2015 in LA Weekly's annual "People" issue.  She was also a featured standup comic on Joan Rivers' 2013 Showtime documentary Why We Laugh: Funny Women.
