Ramadan Kareem!

ECCS-BC wishes its Muslim members a happy and blessed Ramadan this summer. Ramadan is an Islamic fasting month, during which Muslims also observe Taraweeh Late Prayerslinked to the famous "Fanous Ramadan" (Ramadan Lantern). It also has its a fantastically rich heritage in Egypt, ranging from Iftar cannons, night callers and magnificent evening kitchen delights. Ramadan is followed by Eidul Fitr, a major Muslim celebration.

Meet Our Top Volunteers!

Iman, Haya, Hana (below, left to right) and Ahmed (no picture  shown) did an extraordinary job as volunteers during two consecutive major events, Eidul Adha & Sham El-Neseem. In appreciation for their spirit of giving, they've been granted free admissions, as Guests of Honour, to our upcoming event in July, Kanaka Summer Camp. Ask us for fun and rewarding volunteering opportunities available in the near future!

Eidul Fitr picnic will take place at John Lawson Park in West Vancouver on Sunday, July 18, 2015. The park has relaxing sitting areas and a large play ground for children, which makes it suitable for the whole family. A balloon twister might be brought; come and join the fun!

Watch with friends the Vancouver Fireworks in the excellent, uncrowded spot of Hadden Park in Kitsilano, Vancouver, on Saturday, July 25, 2015. ECCS-BC has enjoyed this special reserved spot that provides a superior view of the fireworks for the last 27 years. It will be an all day picnic ending with a great blast!

VPL’s summer Writing & Book Camp helps young bibliophiles, age 11- 17, develop their writing craft. They are introduced to library resources, get advice from published authors and illustrators, and have fun meeting new friends with similar interests.
