ABOUT PETE LASKIS
A maverick of electronic/techno categorization, Pete Laskis is a Melbourne/Australia based producer/DJ. He first started collecting and spinning wax from the age of 16. By the age of 19, he was striving to play in clubs and local parties. Pete finally broke through with his unique way of mixing track selections by holding weekly residencies in some of Melbourne’s biggest underground nightclubs.
Pete has played alongside acts such as Oliver Huntemann, Stephan Bodzin, Harvey Mckay, and Seth Troxler at some of Australia’s biggest festivals including Summadayze, Future Music Festival, and Earthcore. Soon after, Pete found himself under the heavily influence and spell of techno heavyweights, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, and Dubfire. These artists inspired him massively enough to head across the sea towards the European shores to experience the vibes in person.
After returning to Melbourne, he locked himself in the studio with his sights aimed at the production scene. Shortly after, local label Grime Recordings signed his first EP “Drummatic,” which set things off. Not long after, Pete released “Section 8” to the Italian label, Gain Records. Recently, Pete has released music on Minihard and has joined the refused. family debuting his EP “SpiceBomb.”
