The Hartford Business Journal Features reSET!
Social entrepreneurship law gains early traction;
Hartford seen as hub

Meet with Stephen Cole, Senior Project Manager, City of Hartford
Appointments available for the 4th Thursday of every month

Stephen Cole is focusing on helping entrepreneurs gain access to city resources to assist them with starting and growing their companies. His philosophy is that government’s role isn’t to be the entrepreneur; it’s to help the entrepreneur by using city-controlled assets and resources in a way that is meaningful to achieve economic growth.

He has worked with the City of Hartford since May 2012, in municipal economic development for more than 10 years, and in banking and finance for the previous five years.  Cole earned his Masters Degree from Trinity College in Public Policy & Law. Past projects and successes include constructing New England’s largest solar photovoltaic array -- sufficient to provide electricity for 500+ homes; facilitating the Hartford Strong Cities Strong Communities Challenge competition; managing the Parkville NRSA program; and assisting businesses with their unique start-up and growth needs.  Over the past two years, Cole has managed projects on behalf of the city involving over one million square feet of commercial space, retained 3,000 jobs, and created more than 5,000 jobs in the city.
