PRESERVING A TEEN'S BEAUTIFUL MIND

Madison Blackmon was a 14-year-old straight-A student and three-sport athlete when she began having what she thought were anxiety attacks. Eventually, she began losing her ability to focus on simple tasks and seizures soon followed. An MRI revealed a brain tumor.

Her family felt helpless until they discovered the team at Florida Hospital for Children. Dr. Ki Hyeong Lee, Dr. James Baumgartner and a team of 25 specialists designed and successfully executed a plan to not only remove the tumor but to also get Madison back in the classroom and on the playing field. Learn more about her remarkable recovery, including her return to the volleyball court just two weeks after brain surgery.
