The 2016-2018 Business Plan of UICC
Dear UICC Members,
At the UICC Board meeting last month, we discussed what the organisation should focus on in the period 2016-2018. After extensive dialogue, talking to our members and partners and evaluating our strengths and weaknesses, we set out an ambitious plan, building on UICC’s achievements of the last few years with a view to increase the impact our activities have on cancer at a global and national level.
The 2016-2018 Business Plan, which has now been signed off by the Board of Directors, comprises three key elements:
Firstly, we wish to build on the convening platforms which we have created over the last five years – World Cancer Day, the World Cancer Congress and the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit – and supplement these with a growing number of topic-specific roundtables which support our advocacy agenda.
Secondly, we will bring together our capacity building activities in Geneva and seek greater investment in this area from our members and partners. Our new capacity building team will continue to focus on fellowships and workshops, but will also develop a suite of new activities in the areas of fund distribution, training and education and improved member resources. This team will grow over the next few years, delivering toolkits, guidelines, resources and training opportunities to UICC members around the world...
