Junior Program - Empty Spots
There are still a few places left in session 3 (July 20-31) and in Session 4 (August 3-14). We will be offering an extra week at the end of the summer (August 17-21). This fifth session will be skills based and a great opportunity to finish off or get started on a new CANsail level. To register, please contact Laurence Pagé the Junior Program Manager by email laurence@gryc.ca or by calling the club (819) 827-7419.
Community Notice - from the Commodore
Our local businesses at and around the junction of 105 and Old Chelsea Road are suffering a drastic loss of business because of the installation of the new sewer and water system. Our own members, James and Lynn Hargreaves of Le Resto and Michael Kaplan of La Boucanerie, and businesses such as the Freshmart, where we get provisions for the club are seriously affected by the road closures. Please take a little time and go the extra distance to visit our local merchants for your shopping needs and show a little solidarity.
Thank you,
Marc Ranger, Commodore

The Allan Richens Memorial Fund 2015 Appeal to Members
It’s that time of year when once again we appeal to members for their generosity in providing youth sailing bursaries to deserving young people sailing in our Junior Program and/ to support our increasingly successful Youth Racing Team.
This Fund was launched last year in 2014 to commemorate the wonderful legacy left by our one surviving Founder Allan Richens who passed away on December 31st 2012 . The Memorial Fund is established in perpetuity to support deserving youth to access both our Junior Progam Sailing School and our youth Racing Team
We have just set up an area on our GRYC web site for the Fund including a wall of honour to recognize all donors who have contributed $50 and above in 2014 and 2015. Please click here for more information.
Contributions can be made by cheque payable to the " Gatineau River Yacht Club ( allan Richens Memorial Fund ) and mailed to GRYC, Box 1766 , Chelsea,QC J9B 1A1 OR by Pay Pal.
With great appreciation on behalf of our youth.
