Proposed wind turbine at Cardwell Farm, Long Cross.

The Parish Council held a special meeting on 10th June, to hear the views of local people and decide what representations it should make to the Borough Council about this proposed 57.64m high wind turbine at Cardwell Farm, Long Cross.

Taking into account a number of factors, including the views expressed by those who attended the two public meetings on this issue, the Parish Council decided to object to this proposal. If you want to read the submission made to the Borough Council, you can find it by clicking here:

The closing date for representations to be received by the Borough Council has now been extended to 26th June.

If you want to submit any representations to West Devon Borough Council about the proposed turbine, you can do so on their planning portal.

What would you like to do?

As was mentioned in the last newsletter, the Chillaton Public Hall Trust looks after the funds raised when the village hall was sold many years ago. From time to time, the Trust organises social events as a means of supporting the village, in the absence of a village hall.

A number of people have already completed a short questionnaire about the Trust's ideas for a village day out, together with their own suggestions for future events.
