We had a surprise visitor on the market table last Saturday: new potatoes! We decided to dig some up to have a look and they look fabulous, so we will now be harvesting beautiful red, blue and yellow new potatoes for as long as they last. We should have long english cucumbers and fresh garlic appearing on the table by next week at the latest.

We are happy to report that we are now running two "checkouts" on Saturday morning to help move through the line quicker and we have been able to keep a selection of most of our produce on the table past 11am.

WORKBEES FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES!

The family-friendly workbees this summer will be like our regular workbees but also include special activities for kids--games and explorations in the garden, as well as some kid-sized garden work. Jillian Wheatley, our school garden coordinator will fearlessly lead the curiosity-inspiring fun with help from our summer intern and volunteers.

The activities are geared toward children 5-12. (younger children are invited to participate if accompanied by a parent.) Kids will learn about what's growing, pollinators, compost and all things farmy. Each session will be different so come as often as you can!

Parents (neighbours, grandmas, uncles or any other adult caregiver) should plan to stay on the farm during the session and join the fun.
