Chef's Dinner
An evening of Turkish Cooking with Chef Sibel Pinto
A long time ago I met a fabulously talented Turkish chef while studying in Paris. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Sibel Pinto studied Business Administration at Bosphorus University. While in Turkey she worked as a bank manager. Arriving in Paris, Sibel decided to study at the world-famous Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School (that's where I met her) and received her diploma in Taste, Gastronomy, and the Arts of the Table (DUGGAT) from the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne.
Sibel now owns a catering company in Paris, works as chef-instructor in cooking schools and as a lecturer in various university gastronomy departments. She runs a well-known Istanbul Gourmet Walking Tour where she takes participants off-the-beaten-track on a delicious culinary adventure. She is the author of the book ‘The Evolution of the Sephardic Cuisine in Turkey: Five Centuries of Survival’, which has won the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook award. She is a regular columnist for Shalom newspaper, and a frequent contributor to culinary magazines and cookbooks. She divides her time between Paris and Istanbul.
The Chef’s Dinner will take you on a journey into a unique culinary experience, feasting on a delicious meze buffet, one of the most pleasurable ways to explore Turkish cuisine!
