Clean Up!

How to manage an overstuffed email inbox and never miss a winning notification.

In the last issue of The Winning EDGE I discussed how important it was to be organized to win. One aspect of being organized is to avoid being overwhelmed.

As the last day of the month is only a few days away, it's the perfect time to discuss an activity you should be doing: UNSUBSCRIBE.

Yes, once per month (you could also do this weekly) unsubscribe from all the emails you receive that are not pertinent to your hobby (or any other interest).

Some sweepers also clean up their Facebook wall deleting all the posts for contests that have ended. I don't as I feel most people won't scroll that far back on my Timeline, and if they always read the rules, they will realize it's over and not disqualify themselves or waste their time. (Plus I barely have time to enter, let alone clean up Facebook!)

How often do you unsubscribe?

Your Questions Answered

Ask Carolyn Anything

I used to have a section in The Winning EDGE called Your Questions Answered.  After I discontinued the newsletter, I began answering my questions on my blog, From The Contest Queen.  If you have any sweepstakes, contest or giveaway related questions, #AskCarolynAnything.  I'll answer them in my blog or on YouTube, then add the link to my response in this newsletter so you won't miss any great answers, tips or tricks.

Winning Tip

Where are you spending your time online?
Do your Facebook contest entries last, or enter them and quickly move on to the next contest before you find yourself trapped in the Facebook suck*.

*Facebook suck is when you spend time scrolling down your Newsfeed looking for contests, liking friend's photos and commenting on their dinner. Next thing you know 30-60 minutes has gone by and you have only entered two giveaways.

Send in your tips and you may be featured in the next issue of The Winning EDGE!

Missing Issues?

Are you asking yourself:
  • Why am I only getting The Winning EDGE once a month?
  • Have I missed any issues?
Since CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation) went into effect on July 1st 2014, legally I must have expressed consent from subscribers, but until July 1st 2017, I can continue to send emails to those that have given me implied consent.

Once a month, until the government deadline, I will send a newsletter to my entire subscriber list and if you still wish to receive The Winning EDGE, legally I must have your expressed consent. If not, please unsubscribe at the bottom of this email.
