Good Day Sunshine

The Beatles said it best!

Summer is a time to be in the cold water under the hot sun, to listen to outdoor concerts and to generally have fun. Of course, we all have to fit in some work, as well. Lucky for me, my work often doesn't feel like work at all. And living in Texas, there is nothing like hibernating in my air conditioned studio when it's 100 degrees outside.

Here's some news from my cool studio, as well as from the home front. There are some pretty exciting things happening for me personally, as next month approaches. Be sure to scroll down to find out what it is!

News From the Studio

I recently upgraded my microphone to a Neumann TLM-103 and it sounds amazing! Send me over a sample script and I will show you the difference a great microphone can make in sound quality! I give special thanks to the following people for giving me feedback, as I tested different mics out: Heather Costa, Dan Friedman, the fabulous engineers at The Sound Lab and The Block House, Sergio Samayoa, and Jordan Reynolds.

Here's a fun TV spot that I did recently for Oregon Department of Transportation about allowing cyclists "personal space" on the roads. With a well-written script and compelling video footage, the agency made my job feel easy! Thanks to my agents at In Both Ears, for the booking!

Every once in awhile, a really special script comes along that calls for a truly "conversational" delivery. In this case, I got even luckier, with a director that gave me freedom in the booth to play and make the read my own. I am particularly proud of
this spot and hope you will take a moment to watch. Thanks, dB Talent, for the booking!

News From the Home Front

We're expecting Twins!

We’re expecting twins later this month and couldn’t be more excited! There will be a few weeks that I am entirely out of pocket to record from around July 30th-August 15th. If you can guess their actual birth date(s), I will send you a prize! Here’s a hint: They are officially due on August 20th, but most twins don’t go to term. Please note, that I have an army of loved ones to help me out with the new babies. I will back in that studio doing what I love ASAP!

Fun Facts about twins:

Women who eat a lot of dairy are more prone to conceiving twins. I would expect there to be a lot of twins here in Texas, where queso and chips are practically their own food group.
40% of twins invent their own languages.
Twins bond in the womb. By studying ultrasound images, research found that fetuses start deliberately interacting at 14 wks.

In 1966, Paul McCartney and John Lennon of The Beatles wrote a timeless feel-good song called "Good Day Sunshine." Richie Unterberger of allmusic said that the song "radiates optimism and good vibes." I dare you to listen and not song along. For me, it's impossible!
