Maryland State Arts Council + MidAtlantic Foundation for the Arts
Individual Artist Award
Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards are grants awarded to Maryland artists to encourage and sustain their pursuit of artistic excellence. Grant recipients are selected through an anonymous, competitive process. Awards are highly competitive. A limited number of awards of $1,000, $3,000, and $6,000 will be offered this year in Creative Non-Fiction/Fiction, Media/Digital/Electronic Arts,Theater: Solo Performance, Visual Arts: Painting, Visual Arts: Works on Paper

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant
The Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers. There are no deadlines. The Foundation encourages applications from artists who have genuine financial needs that are not necessarily catastrophic. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time. Professional exhibition history will be taken into consideration. Artists must be actively exhibiting their current work in professional artistic venues, such as gallery and museum spaces.

The William G. Baker Jr. Memorial Fund
The William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund believes that arts and culture play a central role in the development and growth of healthy individuals and thriving communities and commits its resources to promote and sustain a vibrant arts and culture sector in metropolitan Baltimore. Its grants support organizational effectiveness, promote local artists and their work, and provide cultural experiences that welcome people of all backgrounds, enhance residents’ lives, and strengthen the region’s sense of cohesion and identity.

Maryland Humanities Council - Major Grants (Awards up to $10,000)
MHC provides grants to nonprofit organizations that use the humanities (literature, philosophy, history, etc.) to engage Marylanders. Grant categories and criteria encourage free, public programming in many forms including discussions, exhibits, lectures, living history, and seminars using the humanities as the central tools to explore and understand the complexity of an issue. Grants are awarded with the understanding that participants will be given the opportunity to discuss critical issues affecting their communities.

"Paint the Town Mural Project"
The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and Bethesda Urban Partnership are accepting applications for "Paint the Town" Mural Project, the newest arts initiative in downtown Bethesda!  "Paint the Town" is an initiative to promote more public art murals in downtown Bethesda. The first public art mural project organized by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District is the Capital Crescent Trail Retaining Wall located on Arlington Road, by Bradley Boulevard and across from the Safeway grocery store.

Open Call for Proposals
Hillyer is now accepting proposals for solo exhibitions for its 2016/2017 exhibition season. Hillyer presents monthly exhibitions and each accepted artist is given a room in our three room gallery space to present their work.Hillyer’s focuses on under represented artists. Hillyer accepts proposals from regional artists that live within 150 miles of Washington, DC and have not had a solo exhibition in the last three years at a professional gallery or art space and from international artists that are both living and working overseas.

Call for Proposals: IMPACT at Green Spring Station
Maryland Art Place (MAP) is now accepting applications for its fall 2015 IMPACT project at Green Spring Station. This fall, MAP is partnering with the Green Spring Station for an artist or team of artists to create an original temporary indoor installation comprised of items from the merchants of Green Spring Station. The selected artist/artist team will receive a $1,000 stipend to cover the cost of materials and labor. Installation is scheduled to take place between October 1, 2015 and November 13, 2015. MAP and the Green Spring Station will host an opening reception at the site in mid November.

Equinox – Cycles in Nature marks the second of four calls for LAND&ART@MARC: A 4 SEASON PROJECT, a collaboration between MARC and WSG to develop and realize land art and land use projects through the four seasons of the year, with the primary focus on farming and agricultural issues. The collaboration seeks to generate a diverse and multi-layered program throughout the year that examines farming, agricultural themes in today’s societal landscape, and environmental issues through collaborative and participatory creative projects with visitors, volunteers, members, and communities.

Call for Proposals: Hospice of the Chesapeake
Hospice of the Chesapeake is seeking an artist(s) to create site–specific original artwork as part of the chapel/reflection space in the new Inpatient Care Center, located on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122. This opportunity is open to established professional artists living in the United States and Canada. A maximum of a $10,000 Commission for the artist(s) selected to realize his/her work.
