80 Golfers help HSICF raise over $10,000 in 18 holes
The second annual Sam Han Classic took place Friday, July 10 at the Montebello Country Club. The golf tournament drew 80 golfers from all skill levels. Each participant received a goodie bag and entrance into our competitive 18 hole tournament which included a longest drive competition, closest to the pin, and three hole-in-one contests with the grand prize featuring a $10,000 payout. While no one was able to get that evasive hole-in-one, all the participants thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful day full of golf, friendship, and laughter all while benefiting a great cause.
The emphasis of this year’s tournament was on Operation B.O.O.K. – Bringing Opportunity to Our Kids – an initiative launched in 2014 to build schools in rural areas to give our children a chance of breaking the shackles of poverty by obtaining a free education and meal programs. In total, the event raised more than $10,000 in funds to help continue to expand Operation B.O.O.K.
