The ACBA Barristers Section is proud to announce that the 11th Annual Barristers Golf Classic will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Metropolitan Golf Links Golf Course, located near the Oakland Airport. The tournament will be followed by a cocktail party and banquet.
The Barristers Golf Classic supports the education, mentoring and professional development of new attorneys in Alameda County.
Whether you’re a new golfer wanting to spend an afternoon networking with other attorneys and judges or an experienced golfer hoping to see your name engraved on the President’s Cup, you’re welcome at the ACBA Barristers Golf Classic!
The tournament will be held at the Metropolitan Golf Links Golf Course, a top-notch golf facility with all the ‘bells and whistles.’ Fully certified as a Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Society, the course combines a wide open design with enough challenges to keep both the high and low handicapped player on the green.
Less experienced golfers will benefit from the tournament’s scramble format – each player tees off, the best shot is selected, then all players play from that selected position. The team plays as if it is one player, throwing out most of the hooks, slices, shanks, whiffs, and other vexing shots.
 The winning team will have their names engraved on the President’s Cup. There will also be special competition holes for closest to the pin and longest drive, as well as the signature Putt-with-a-Gavel competition prior to tee-off. Prizes will be awarded during the banquet at the end of the tournament. Last year Team Aiken Welch won: Jani Matsui, Ignascio Camarena, Matthew Graham, and Khaled Taqi-Eddin. Will there be a repeat this year?
Prices for ACBA members are: $560 foursome/$150 single. Non-Member prices are: $600 foursome/$160 single.
