Equi-Tape Workshop
September 19-20, Elizabeth, CO

This is an excellent course for equine professionals (trainers, bodyworkers, vet techs, competitors) and we are seeing AMAZING results in taping the rehabilitation horses that come through Acadia Equine Rehabilitation’s rehab program.

Equi-Tape is great for horses in full work, rehabilitation horses that are on controlled or limited exercise, as well as retirement horses dealing with compensatory issues.  This is also a fantastic modality to add to an equine bodyworker’s practice.  Certification through Equi-Tape is completely attainable after the weekend course.

See www.equi-tape.com for more information and please feel free to contact us in the RMSAAM office to learn more about the registration process and to get a special discount when registering for this course!
From Jenny's Desk...
Time flies, and it’s the 4th of July already, with summer in full force!  We are super excited about the new web site that (finally) went live last week.  I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback on it!  We’re also looking forward to several of the special courses offered here in September including the amazing Ken Bain’s trigger point courses and the Equi-Taping course that Jenny will be co-teaching.  Check the calendar and get registered for these courses while there is still room!

Please be conscientious of your pets and horses during fourth of July celebrations!  Many noise or thunder phobic dogs can really struggle this time of year with thunder storms and then fire works this weekend.  There are some essential oils (like Vetiver, Valarian, or Yarrow) that can be diffused or diluted and offered to the dog to help them stay calm during storms and fireworks.   Frog works also has a great product made for dogs called Merlin’s Magic Calming Potion that is already diluted and works on many situations to help with calming.  Make sure horses are fenced or stalled securely in a safe area if there are fireworks happening near the barn.

I’m grateful to for the independence we celebrate this weekend here in America, and wish you all a happy holiday weekend!

Advanced Massage for the Canine Athlete and Canine Trigger Point Therapy Protocols

September 21-23, 2015 and September 25-27, 2015

It is hard to believe September is right around the corner! The protocols class is a 3-day hands-on workshop covering trigger point therapy protocols used to effectively treat myofacial trigger points that cause muscle dysfunction and pain in the canine body.  The treatment protocols use massage techniques introduced in the Advanced Massage for the Canine Athlete course.  Separate treatment protocols will be covered for various parts of the body, whether the dysfunction originates from injury, surgery, arthritis, or over-worked muscles."
