Mayada Hesham of Toronto is coming to Ottawa for the first time!

Since discovering Middle Eastern dance in 1994 when she was fifteen years old, Mayada has become a dynamic teacher, a popular performer and a creative choreographer. She is the creator and editor of MID-BITS magazine, and creator and host of Bellydance Talk Radio.
Mayada will be teaching two workshops on Saturday August 22:
– Crazy combos & technique 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
– Salsa – Bellydance fusion 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm

The Camera Club of Ottawa is looking for models for our members to practice studio photography. No modeling experience is required.
Due to space limitations in the studio, no more than 2 or 3 models/dancers per session.
We usually have 4 or 5 photographers who each get about 10-15 minutes to shoot with the models.
Each of the photographers would provide a number of either digital copies or prints(usually no more then 4 or 5), whichever you prefer.

Cathy
Cathy began her Egyptian dance training with Denise Enan, world-renowned dance master, in 1977. She went on to perform professionally as a soloist for many years in the Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto areas and worked with many popular Arabic musicians and singers of the ’70’s and ’80’s.
She was a founding member of the Egyptian Enan Folkloric Troupe and the Lebanese dance troupe, Banaat Sahara, in Ottawa before moving to Lebanon for seven years, where she had the opportunity to absorb the language and culture and explore the music and dance. Since her return to Canada she has been performing and teaching both Egyptian and Lebanese dance styles, and rejoined the Enan Troupe 2008 after a long absence.
She has more than 35 years of performance and teaching experience. “I love this dance in all of its authentic forms, and have tried very hard to promote teaching standards in the Ottawa area. I encourage my students to have fun and be expressive while staying loyal to its cultural roots.”
