What a month June has been,

The Amaranth travelers have really gotten their traveling in this month, starting with June 5 arrival in Brunswick with dinner and fellowship at the Millhouse restaurant then back to the hotel for more fellowship before turning in for the night.
We traveled to Port City on Saturday morning, June 6 for their Official visit.
As usual everything was beautiful, the lovely decorations of pineapple ornaments and fresh flowers, the picnic lunch setting with green table cloths and red and white overlays made us feel as though we were out in the garden, the food was great. Port City has been busy recruiting and had two new members with both filling stations. There were thirty two Amaranth members in attendance; the generous contribution to Diabetes Research was greatly appreciated.
Following the Official Visit Port City Court honored H.L. Tiffany St John, Grand Associate Matron with a reception, which was enjoyed by all.
After the Reception we returned to Brunswick for the evening where those staying over gathered in the “Board Room” at the hotel for more fellowship.
Sunday morning found us at Brunswick Court for their Official Visit, likewise, they had a beautiful day planned with the red, white and blue decorations and flowers we were again in our Garden.  There were 36 Amaranth members present, Brunswick also has new candidates ready for Inition, the ritual floor work was beautiful and the great solo of “I Believe” provided by H.L. Carolyn Mincey.  Member H.L. Hallie Jean Stevens was at the piano for the day, what a joy it is to have so much talent in our Order.  The generous donation to Diabetes Research was greatly appreciated.

We had good attendance on both days.  It is always good to have time to get together at the hotel and fellowship together when we go to the Coast.

S.K. Bill and I had the privilege of representing the Order of the Amaranth at the Informal Opening of the Order of the Eastern Star Session on Thursday, June 11, 2015 and to bring greetings.  I was so proud to recognize our Amaranth members in attendance and we were greeted warmly by all.

Immediately following the Eastern Star event, S.K. Bob and I started our trip to Supreme.  Of course, we had to stop by the Marietta Diner with S.K. Bill and H.L. Linda before saying our goodbyes and hitting the road. We drove over to Tupelo, Mississippi arriving around 2:00 AM then on to Springfield, Missouri for our second night on the road.  Next we traveled through Missouri, on to Hays, Kansas for third night, through Colorado and on into Cheyenne, Wyoming for our fourth night, followed by Salt Lake City, Utah. What sites we have seen! We understand anew the meaning of “America the Beautiful.”   On Tuesday, June 16 we traveled to McCall, Idaho where we enjoyed a visit with our niece and her husband, Patty and John Winder.  On Thursday Bob and I were back on the road again stopping for the night in Hood River, Oregon then on to  Seattle, Washington on Friday.

The Supreme Assembly was great, H.L. Victoria Ault, Supreme Royal Matron and S.K. Del Militaire, Supreme Royal Patron had a great session.  S.K. Bill Wagner, and I were honored to represent Georgia throughout the Session seated along with the other Grand Royal Matrons and Grand Royal Patrons. The Installation of H.L. Dianne Dean, Supreme Royal Matron  and S.K. George Pavlik, Supreme Royal Patron was beautiful.  We also had our own H.L. Kim May installed as Supreme Marshal in the West, and S.K. Bob Holloway Installed as Supreme Sentinel. Sixteen Georgia members attended this year; I want to thank all for supporting H.L. Stella in her endeavor to become Supreme Associate Conductress, although she was not elected, she has represented Georgia well.

We all enjoyed the reception for H.L. Dianne Dean and S.K. George Pavlik on Thursday evening as we began the 2015 - 2016 year with a bang.

S.K. Bob and I began our trip back to Georgia on Friday morning, traveling down the Coast of Northern California, enjoying the beautiful mountains along the way to Crescent City on Friday night then on through the Red Wood Forest to Santa Rosa on Saturday night.  Sunday morning we toured San Francisco and on to Barstow for the night.  At this writing we are heading to Hoover Dam then down to I- 40 and sites in between there and Georgia.  Hope to be home by July 4th.  Great trip!!!.

Lets all make a special effort to increase our membership in each Court this year.  H.L. Stella has some great ideas to help you along with  membership and will be working with you on this.  It is time to schedule your Leadership meeting visit, if you have not already done so, please contact H.L. Betty Taylor and set up a speaker for your court, she  has a good committee working on this and will be glad to visit your court.

These are exciting times, we want this year to be one that we share  what is happening in our members “Garden of Life”.  Secretaries, make sure your members have a contact list and stay in touch with your members.  Ask your qualified friends to join us in our Search for a Cure;  members, always have a petition handy just in case you need to  give one to a prospective member.

“Kind Hearts are the Gardens; kind thoughts are the roots; kind words are the flowers; kind deeds are the fruits.”

Be kind to one another and “Choose well the seed you plant in the Garden of Life, just in case they grow”.

H.L. Lottie, GRM
Fundraising Idea for Month – ASK!
Just ask for a donation!  Ask your doctor, friends, neighbors, family, etc. It doesn't have to be a large donation.  The $5, $10 and $20 donations can add up fast.  Diabetes touches the lives of everyone.  You may get several people to just hand you a small donation.  The worst that can happen is they say no, but it's a great opportunity to explain what we do and it may lead to other donations and opportunities. See if your company has a Charitable Matching Program.  Many companies will match up to a certain dollar amount.

Let’s get to work!
