Get Social in our new
WN Facebook Group

The Women's Network of Rapid City has recently created a new Group on Facebook for our members. The decision to transition to a Group from a Page was made due to limitations that come with having a Facebook Page.
The greatest limitation we have noticed was that posts to the Page by members are pushed into a sidebar conversation that is not easily noticeable, especially by those who may not be familiar with Facebook Pages or who don't use Facebook much.
In order to encourage more participation in our online Facebook community, the Board felt that having a Group, where all information posted by members goes front and center into the main timeline would be helpful.
What this means for our members:
Even if you have previously Liked our Page, you will now need to submit a request to join the Group. Any approved member can add members from your friends list. However, Board members will have to approve all requests or additions, since they will have the most current membership list. Only current members will be able to join the Group and network, participate in discussions, promote events or sales, announce promotions, etc.
Eventually, the old Page will no longer be maintained or updated. Please be sure to join the Group to take advantage of every networking opportunity possible within the Women's Network of Rapid City. It is our hope that the new Facebook Group will be an excellent place to continue the networking between meetings.
Get rewarded for participation in the Group:
To kick start the new Facebook Group, the Board has approved a budget for monthly prizes for participation in the Group. Any kind of participation can and will be rewarded. It may be someone who Liked and interacted with the most posts, someone who made a particularly funny or insightful comment or post in the Group, someone who helped another member, or a randomly selected member who posted during the month.
 So, get on Facebook right now while it's on your mind. Join the Group by clicking on the Facebook icon. Invite your Facebook friends (who are current WN members) to join the Group. Post your 30-second networking from the meeting to the Group. Announce upcoming events. Congratulate another member for an accomplishment. Give some kudos. Like and comment on other members' posts.

Important Note: RSVP must be in the preceding Friday. Late reservations, or those without reservations will pay an additional $5 fee and may not get a meal (subject to availability).
If you make reservations and do not attend, you will be billed for the meeting.
RC Women's Network pays for the Buffet Lunch by the number of plates used. Please only take 1 plate for your lunch.
Literature for the tables: The size of the dining table literature is to be no larger than 4.25 x 5.5 (equivalent of 1/4 sheet)
All larger literature is to be put on the back table.
Networking: Members only for 30 seconds
50/50: Guests and members may participate and buy a ticket(s). Half of the money collected goes to the Scholarship Fund, the other half is given out to the winning ticket holder

1. _Kate Haave________ This Rapid City native has lived her whole life here, other than getting her education in Lincoln, NE. She is now raising her two children here. Her sister's family and her parents are also all still here.
2. _Jo Prang__________ This woman has known what she "wanted to be when she grew up" since the 9th grade, when she decided to follow her father's footsteps and pursue the same career.
3. _Marilyn Simon______ This member has competed at some of the largest dance competitions in the US, including the Ohio Star Ball, Hotlanta, Heritage in Ashville, NC, and the Yuletide Ball in Washington, DC.
4. _Brandy Alley_______ While this member says she's not sure what she "wants to be when she grows up," we are pretty sure she has found a good fit in the field she is in now. She got into it at the suggestion of a friend 19 years ago!
