Vacation!

The studio has been closed for TWO weeks! Yes, it is already July, and I am just getting my newsletter out. Why? We took the kids on a grand adventure out west. There was a lot of whining and complaining, but I think overall the boys will look back on it with fond memories. I suspect I did the same thing to my parents when they took us out west. Where all did we go? Here's the breakdown - The Alamo and River Walk, the original Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Carlsbad Caverns, stream train ride from Durango to Silverton, Mesa Verda, flew through Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon dam (Lake Powell), briefly saw Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Dinosaur, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Mall of America, Mackinac Island, then a visit with family for the 4th and finally back home. Whew! I've added a few of my favorite photos below.

Art Class for Kids

4 Wednesdays – August 5, 12, 19, 26
4:00 – 5:00 PM
Ages 8 - 12
Fees: $55/$50 Huntsville Art League Members + $15 supply fee

Each month we will focus on a different element of art while we explore various art mediums. The goal is for to kids become comfortable and confident with expressing their ideas visually through art. In addition, they will learn art basics and fundamentals that will help them better understand an appreciate art.

During August, we will be focusing on Line as our first element of art.

ADULTS & TEENS

Date Night: Dragons

4 Wednesdays – August 5, 12, 19, 26
6:00 – 8:00 PM
Ages 12+
Fee: $112/$100 Huntsville Art League Member

Using Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, we will draw your this photo of a cat using the grid method. We will work on creating realistic fur. Demonstrations will be given in class and there will be time to work on our drawings together. Paper will be provided. Be prepared to work on your drawing at home in order to complete it. If you have a smart phone or iPad to draw from, please bring it to draw from.

Any colors not included in the 24 pack of Prismacolor Premier colored pencils will be available for purchase from the instructor for $2 per pencil.
