|
Dates: August 4 -14 (Tuesday through Sunday)
Times: Varying shift times
Location: 2219 Canal Street, Houston, TX 77003 (map)
Join us for the second round of art workshops to build large-scale lanterns for the evening procession that will light up the night sky at Buffalo Bayou Park's grand opening on Saturday, October 3. We've already built 26 visual elements, including the downtown skyline, bat, dog, art car and more! We hope you can join us at any of our workshops running until August 14 led by local artists Justin Dunford and Camella Clements.
Workshops are free, all materials are provided and no experience is required. Kids (ages 9 and up) working with an adult are welcome. Different techniques and tasks will take place each day (i.e., building the structure out of bamboo and rattan, papier-mâché, and adding color) as the collective work progresses.

Anne Olson, BBP President, with Claude Griffin, Shell Program Manager

|
In its eighth year of existence, Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s Clean & Green Program utilizes community service workers to remove more than 3,000 cubic yards of trash and debris annually from Buffalo Bayou, its tributaries and the Port of Houston. Our organization places a high value on partnership, and we are honored to continue to collaborate with Shell Oil Company and Port of Houston Authority on this much-needed and successful initiative.
