Get Together at the Dealership and See the New Miata

The new Miata has arrived at our local dealership and they have invited us to a special showing and PR event. They are very interested in having the local Miata Club there for pictures, interviews, video, and who knows what. Don't worry - we don't have to buy one. This is very short notice. It will happen on Tuesday July 28 or Wednesday July 29. We can do this around 11:30 AM and then go somewhere for lunch afterward. This isn't just for the guys; everyone can attend.

If you are interested, RSVP soon to Bill Woodward at bwoodward1804@yahoo.com. Tell me which day is best for you, or both if it doesn't matter. If we get enough people I'll coordinate with the Mazda dealer on the details.

GSMC Dinner & A Show

What: Dinner and Theater
When: Wednesday, August 26, 2015, 5:30 PM
Where: Rivertown Bistro, 1111 3rd Ave., Conway (Google map)
Next: Theatre of the Republic, 337 Main Street, Conway (Google map)
Our Hosts: Mike and Ann Kohler
RSVP: To Mike & Ann at mkohler211@gmail.com or call 843-855-0349

Mike & Ann Kohler have planned a club event that starts with dinner at the Rivertown Bistro in Conway and then continues with a night at the theater. The play is "Sister Act: The Musical" at the Theatre of the Republic, also in Conway.

Here is Mike's description of the evening:

"On Wednesday, August 26th, we would like to get a group together to go to dinner at the Rivertown Bistro and then go to the Theatre of the Republic for a production of "Sister Act: The Musical". This is the show description: (Click Here)

The Theater and the restaurant are in Conway and are only about 2 blocks apart. Park once and walk to both.

The theater tickets are $20 if you buy through the group and $23 if you buy them outside the group. I have a bloc of 26 tickets reserved under "Grand Strand Miata." You can either go to the theater and pay or pay for your tickets by phone by calling 843-488-0821. If you pay by phone you can pick up your tickets the night of the show at the "will call" window (bring some ID and probably the credit card that you used). You must buy your tickets by August 12th or they will be released to the public. This show will sell out.

The restaurant is very good and offers a wide variety of food and wide range of prices. This is their web site: (Click here). The restaurant will arrange for us to have our own room as long as we give them the number of people eating that night, well in advance.

The dinner reservations will be for 5:30pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. So what I need to know is how many people are definitely going to go. Please get back to me by August 20th so I can ensure the arrangements. Please let me know if you are going to the dinner AND the show, or the dinner only, or the show only.

If you have any questions contact me by phone at 843-855-0349 or e-mail at mkohler211@gmail.com."

Fundraiser for Mercy Hospice

GSMC member Bert Hayslip is involved in a fundraising project.

Saturday, August 15, Mercy Care Hospice will host a fundraising event at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball stadium and your help is needed. For Mercy Care to raise money, we need to sell a minimum of 100 tickets; Mercy Care's goal is to sell 300 tickets. All monies raised go to support our non-reimbursed programs such as grief and bereavement, Camp Happy Hearts, and Mercy Honor pinning ceremonies.

Tickets are $11.00 each (regular price is $14.00)

Please ask your family, your friends, your children's friends and their families to attend and help support the wonderful work that each of you do and are committed to - touching the lives of those people with life-limiting illnesses.
