CVA Trustees Needed
Chester Voluntary Action (CVA) is seeking Trustees to strengthen our existing Board, and help to shape our direction, at the start of the second 100 years of our existence. We operate across Chester and surrounding area and, for some activities, across Cheshire West.
CVA promotes volunteering and community action through our Volunteer Centre and a comprehensive range of capacity building support, which help Third Sector organisations to deliver effective front-line services. Our networks and partnerships with the voluntary, public and private sectors ensure that voluntary, community and faith groups have a strong and independent voice. Overall, we aim to improve the quality of life for local people and communities.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Trustees with an understanding of, and strong interest in promoting the local Third Sector. Ideally, applicants would have awareness of local and national developments and of the pressures affecting the sector. We are looking in particular for people with voluntary sector management experience and with marketing experience.
The Board meets during normal working hours four times a year. Trustees also attend occasional working groups and sometimes undertake specific tasks. This is a voluntary role but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
As CVA Trustee, you would be supporting a dedicated team of staff and helping CVA to meet its goal of improving quality of life locally.
For more information and an informal discussion, contact Carol Berry, CVA Chief Officer, on 01244 401 272.
