To All Concerned:

The amici curiae of National Association of Health Data Organizations (NAHDO) et. al. was filed September 4, 2015 on the SCOTUS site.  The SCOTUS site has the filings posted (http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/gobeille-v-liberty-mutual-insurance-company/).

Vermont has posted the filings on their website, which you can access here.

The National Association of Health Data Organizations (“NAHDO”) is joined by the All-Payer Claims Database (“APCD”) Council, the Joint Public Health Informatics Taskforce (“JPHIT”), the Center for Improving Value in Health Care (“CIVHC”), and the Wisconsin Health Information Organization (“WHIO”) as amici in support of the Petitioner.1

Thank you to all who provided content, support, and advice in the preparation of the NAHDO Amicus brief!  The law firm of Squires Patton Boggs led by Stephen Nash and Melodi Gates were awesome to work with and made this complex process seem less complex.

We will be watching closely as the case winds its way through the Supreme Court.  It is an important case with implications for state health data policy and population health/health care reform measurement.
It's TIMELY! It's VALUABLE! It's FREE! Brought to you by NAHDO.

ICD-10 Transition Conversion Tool is free and  available for your ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM transition.

To help programs and data users identify which coding scheme is used, the University of California at Davis (UCD) developed, for CDC use, a SAS program that now is available to the public.  The toolkit was developed by UCD under funding from the Center for  Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services (CSELS) within the Office of Public Health Scientific Services (OPHSS) at the CDC.

Information & a webinar on how to use this tool can be found on NAHDO’s website: https://www.nahdo.org/ICD9-10Tools
