The NSW Legislative Council Standing Committee on Social Issues has announced an inquiry into service coordination in communities with high social needs.

The committee will assess whether government agencies and non-government service providers are working together to best meet the needs of their clients and the communities in which their clients live. The committee will also look at the barriers to effective service coordination, including the impact that privacy law may have on service providers talking to each other and coordinating services to their clients.

The Inquiry will also look at best practice models in service coordination, and the possibility of identifying some areas to implement models of best practice.

We are keen to showcase some of the great ways organisations are working together in the region – and how the Illawarra and Shoalhaven would be perfect areas for pilot or demonstration projects.
