Central Interceptor/Sycamore-Lindbergh Interceptor Rehabilitation Project

Start Date: October 6, 2016
Expected Completion: August, 2015

This project includes “trenchless” techniques, such as cured in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, for rehabilitation of sections of one of the largest sanitary sewer interceptor systems in the area.  The project also will result in rehabilitation of major sewer structures (i.e., “manholes”) including the Hazel-River Diversion Chamber.  Construction of a new storm sewer to effect sewer separation on E. Elm Street, between Cedar St. and River St., is also part of the project.

A large portion of the work is now complete, including the underground utility work on Elm Street.  Regarding E. Elm Street, the first course of asphalt paving is scheduled for early next week, which will allow the road to be re-opened to through traffic.
