Towards a More Walkable Nashville

Channel 5 News featured the "Walk! Green Hills" awareness event that I founded and coordinated for 12 years. In this video, I am interviewed about sidewalk needs in Green Hills:

I have been a walkable communities advocate for over 15 years. To read more about my views on sidewalks in Nashville, click here for my latest blog post.

EARLY VOTING OPEN NEAR YOU!

Early Voting at "satellite" locations (Belle Meade City Hall, Bellevue Library, Green Hills Library) opens today and will run July 23rd - August 1st. Registered voters may vote at any satellite location during this time.

Voter ID. You must have ID to vote, but it does not have to be your voter registration card. Your driver's license is the easiest ID to use, but a link to all acceptable ID's can be found at the link below

 Voting Info at angieforcouncil.org

Election Day is Thursday, August 6. You must vote at your designated precinct on this day.

Change of Address.  If you have moved within Davidson County since you last voted, you can find your new precinct on our Voting Info page. You may change your address for your voter registration at your new precinct on Election Day, but allow yourself extra time.

Voting Absentee. If you will be out of town during early voting and on Election Day, then you'll need to vote absentee. Anyone may vote absentee, but you should request your ballot ASAP. July 30th is the last day for these requests to be received at the Election Commission via fax or mail. Please make the effort to take this extra step to vote. Request your absentee ballot here.

Remember to make a plan to vote early, before August 1st. Invite friends and neighbors to join you!

WHAT DOES A METRO COUNCIL MEMBER DO?  A councilperson is a representative and a legislator.  Local laws and regulations affect you and your family daily, so it is important to have someone representing you who is diligent, pays attention to the details, and sees the big picture. Someone who is proactive, collaborative and willing to craft needed legislation. Learn more.

"Just 40 of the more than 500 members elected to Metro Council since 1963 have been women." (article link on my Twitter page @angienashville)

ENDORSED BY WIN. I’m proud to be endorsed by Women in Numbers, a non-partisan organization established to "engage, encourage & endorse qualified women to be elected to public office.” WIN's programs are helpful for women in all areas of the community from the political arena to business and non-profits. Women, I encourage you to join! In January of 2014, I attended the WIN “Getting Elected” seminar, which helped me immensely as I made my plans to run for Metro Council. I have met many intelligent and successful women through this organization, and I appreciate their support very much.
