Platform to promote young, outstanding talents

With the project EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS initiated by Music in Europe, for the first time a non-commercial platform is developed for the first time to introduce, present and make outstanding musical talents visible in Europe and to foster their mobility.

We invite European festivals, concert halls, concert promoters, orchestras, opera houses, competitions, instiuts of academies, music universities and concervatories as well as selected non-profit classical music institutions to participate in the project.

Young, outstanding European talents (instrumentalists, vocalists, conductors and composers) will be nominated from the project participants as EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS is a platform initiated by Music in Europe to introduce and present young, outstanding European classical music talents (instrumentalists, vocalists, conductors and composers) and to foster their transnational mobility and their international career.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS will be nominated from European festivals, concert halls, concert promotors, orchestras, opera houses, competitions, institutions like academies, music universities and conservatories and selected charitable classical music institutions form the area.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS will be established as a European trademark for outstanding rising talents and as a visible commitment to participating music organizations committed to promote young talents.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS will be presented in individual portraits on the website www.EuropeanMusicTalents.eu, as well as interviews and coverage through newsletter and other publications on the platform.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS will assist you in planning and implementing your international career and subsequently facilitate transnational guest performances throughout Europe.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS combines and assists European music organizations to foster young artists, informs about their activities and promotes transnational collaborations concerning audience development.

What are the objectives of the platform EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS?


With EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS for the first time a non-commercial presentation platform is being developed to introduce, present and make outstanding musical talents visible from all the member states of the European Union.

Promising young artists are not only going to be presented in their home country but also in other European countries.

The transnational mobility of young talents and guest performances abroad will be fostered through exchange, placement and increased collaboration between music organizations.

EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS will be established as a European trademark for outstanding rising talents and as a visible commitment to participating music organizations committed to promote young talents.
The platform supports European music organizations – festivals, concert halls, concert promotors, orchestras, opera houses, competitions, institutions like academies, music universities and conservatories and selected charitable classical music institutions form the area – in their activities to support young artists, presents best practice initiatives and will arrange grants for guest performances of nominated artists coming from other countries.
   
   

Who can be nominated as EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENT?


Instrumentalists, vocalists, conductors and composers from the classical music field, that are under the age of 35 at their nomination and have their residency in one of the 28 member states of the EU or one of their partner countries.
   
        

Through whom, how and when occurs the nomination?


Young artists can only be nominated through authorized project partners. Each project partner can nominate one young artist per calendar year – preferably a resident in the country and already promoted by the project participant – as EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENT.

The project partner delivers the nomination to the project administrator. With the publication on the website the nomination is official.
   
   

Who can be project partner and nominate young talents?


Festivals, concert halls, concert promotors, orchestras, opera houses, competitions, instituts of academies, music universities and conservatories, as well as selected non-profit classical music institutions can participate in the project.

The participation at the project requires the membership of the project partner as “Institutional Full Member” of Music in Europe.
   
   

In which countries projects partners and nominated talents have to located?

  • 28 Member States of the European Union:Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom
  • Iceland, Norway, Switzerland
  • Albania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Republic of Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine
 

Which data and documents of the nominated artists are required and will be published?

  • Name of the artists
  • Instrument or voice category
  • Nationality
  • Address of residency (only the town will be published)
  • Date of birth (only the year of birth will be published)
  • Telephone number and email address of the artist (not going to be published)
  • Contact email address (to be published on the website
  • Link to website of the artist
  • Biography in English (max. 4 000 characters incl. space)
  • 2 pictures (free of charge) in HQ with copyright information (photographer) – one picture has to be a portrait
  • Link to one YouTube-Video
  • Name of the project partners with link to their website
 

Is there a special nomination process?


The project partner is not tied to a specified nomination process, they can do so on their own terms.
   
   

How will the nominated EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS be presented?


The website www.EuropeanMusicTalents.eu serves as the central platform for the presentation of nominated talents. Each nominated artist will be presented on an individual micro-page in an individual portrait with text and picture. A search engine (in production) will facilitate the selection through countries, instruments and vocal category. .

In addition to that selected talents will be presented through interviews, coverage, ecetera and through Newsletter, Social Media and other publications of the platform.

The respective project partner is invited to present their nominated talent to their audiences within their possibilities.

Concerts of nominated talents that are organized by the project partner will be promoted especially and will be published on the website in a separate calendar tool (in preparation) and through a Newsletter.
   
   

Will the nominated artists receive concerts?


A central objective of the platform is making young talents from all Europe known and to foster the mobility of their artists and their international carrier.

In the second phase of the project (starting 2017) the project partner – festivals, concert halls, concert promotors, orchestras, opera houses,- will be invited to enable concerts and guest performances of EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS from other countries.

The project partner can choose on their own terms from the pool of the nominated artists EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS and invite them to concerts.

The platform will not only assist in coordinating the guest performances, but will arrange grants for fees, travelling and hotel expenses. A detailed list of aids will be done by a separate agreement with the different project partners. 
   
   

Is the nomination or the participation of the project connected with fees?


EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS was initiated by Music in Europe as a non-commercial platform to promote young talents and does not permit any commercial use.
Both for the nominated talents as well as the project partner are no costs involved including project participation, nomination and presentation through the platform.
   
   

Who coordinates the platform EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS?


EUROPEAN MUSIC TALENTS was initiated by Music in Europe and is administrated and coordinated by a team of the non-profit organization.
   
   

Why does the project participation require the project partner to be a full member of Music in Europe?


Through the membership as an “institutional full member” of the European non-profit organization Music in Europe the project partner is obligated to honor the goals and priorities of the platform.
   
   

How can you become a member of Music in Europe and how much is the membership fee?


You can apply for the membership of Music in Europe through the website and through the application form.
The membership of the project partner as an “Institutional Full Member” automatically includes the membership of one representative of the institution as “Individual Full Member“.
The relatively small annual fee of EUR 295,- should enable all project partner the membership and project participation.
The membership can be cancelled all the time – at the latest by December 31 – for the coming calendar year without any reason.
With that the active participation of the project is void.
   
   

Which service does provide Music in Europe its members?


Members will be informed about initiatives and projects to promote carriers of young artists and to audience development in the area of classical music and you are invited to participate in activities, events, discussions, conventions, seminars and workshops.
Besides information about cultural politics of the European commission and the European parliament members will be informed about grants within the limits of the EU cultural program “Creative Europe” and the participation of collaborations.
   
   

How can the membership and the project participation be terminated?


The membership can be cancelled all the time – at the latest by December 31 – for the coming calendar year without any reason. With that the active participation of the project is voi.

Music in Europe
(
www.MusicInEurope.eu) is a platform and European non-profit organization with its headquarter in Vienna to implement the goals of the EU cultural program “Creative Europe”, being the ensuring, development and advancement of the cultural diversity of Europe and to promote the cultural heritage Europe’s in terms of classical music.

The priorities and objectives of Music in Europe are:
  • the promotion of transnational and international collaboration of artists and cultural institutions in the area of classical music;
  • the promotion of development, mobility, visibility of artists, especially young, rising talents and artists with limited international visibility;
  • a contribution to increased audience development and a new captive audience;
  • Increase of visibility of the values and different culture Europe and an improvement of awareness of European Union.
