The Stop TB Partnership in collaboration with UNAIDS and support from the Global Fund, developed the HIV/TB Gender Assessment Tool.
Stop TB Partnership, UNAIDS and the Global Fund join hands to address gender issues in TB, HIV & TB/HIV

14 July 2015 – Geneva, Switzerland – The Stop TB Partnership, UNAIDS and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria will hold a TB/HIV gender assessment toolkit workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa from 21 – 24 July.

The workshop will train consultants to conduct TB/HIV gender assessments using the tool and further strengthen the capacity of TB activists and gender equality advocates to engage at country level with TB and HIV national planning processes including those linked to the Global Fund.

A gender sensitive perspective helps to reduce barriers to access to TB and TB/HIV services. UNAIDS, the Stop TB Partnership and the Global Fund, work together to enhance support to countries who want to improve their ability to analyze TB and HIV programming in a gender sensitive manner.  The Stop TB Partnership in collaboration with UNAIDS and support from the Global Fund, developed the first-ever HIV/TB Gender Assessment Tool.
