“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). This verse continually re-appears in my life, reminding me that the Lord’s plans are different than my own, yet He honors those who pursue serving him with their ideas and plans. It is with this in mind that we've continued to move forward these past few months, and we want to share some of what has been happening.

Property Update

On April 14, we were granted approval by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals to use the Riverwood Ranch property as a residential rehabilitation facility. With this approval, we were able to move forward in our negotiations with Lifeline Youth and Family Services, the current owner of the Riverwood Ranch property. We're excited to report that earlier this month we were able to take the next big step of signing a purchase agreement. After the many months of searching and zoning hearings, we are so excited to be moving towards a future home! With the challenge of raising funds in the days ahead, we ask that you continue pray for wisdom and guidance for our board as they prepare and organize our efforts, as well as God’s provision for the purchase!

With the signing of the purchase agreement, we have a whole set of items added to our to-do list. One of our first steps in the push towards fundraising was to ready the house for tours. This past weekend we had a great group of volunteers out for a work day out at the Riverwood, and we were able to do some much needed maintenance and cleaning on the facility. Thanks to all those willing to spend part of their weekend with us!

Be sure that you're signed up for our Volunteer Updates (see the Volunteer sidebar) if you'd be interested in hearing about upcoming ways to get involved.

In Other News

While the property issues were in flux, the All Things New board and programming committee have continued to dedicate their efforts towards building the many other elements of the ministry. Discussion topics have centered around All Things New organizational structure and staffing, the application process and paperwork, and renovations and the best use of rooms at Riverwood. We've moved forward in building community partnerships and collaboration and have begun pursuing local grant opportunities. We are so thankful for all of you who have already contributed time and resources to this ministry. As the ministry becomes more and more "real" in the coming months, we look forward to engaging on more practical ground with the many enthusiastic and responsive individuals with whom we've had the opportunity to share our vision.

Through the the delays and the progress, through the growth and the redirects, we continue to see God's faithfulness shown. Pray for us as we continue to seek His guidance and direction to move us forward and inspire our efforts, and praise the Lord with us for his faithfulness!

In His Service,
