The Synching Ship

Thanks to fellow MSP Audio Geek Mike Hallenbeck's blog for the heads up on this cool video about the composition process for "Mad Max: Fury Road". Check out the post & video at synchingship.blogspot.com/2015/07/studio-time-with-junkie-xl.html.

Swedish cars sound awesome!

Koenigsegg has a new car, the One:1 and they released a video of the car accelerating from zero to 300kph (186mph). They then released a full noise video so you can hear the car in all its glory. Check it out here.

For the hi-fi audio crowd

We came across this review for the Symbol Audio Modern Record Console, with prety stunning visual aesthetics. You'll have to judge for yourself if the $19,995 price tag makes up in audio aesthetics.

Attendees are encouraged to go from room-to-room, interact with salespeople and engineers, have a seat and casually listen. Many bring their own iPods, discs or vinyl records, as most exhibitors are happy to play one or two favorite songs as a demonstration of sound quality. A variety of equipment is demonstrated, ranging from affordable audio systems to ultra-expensive high-end gear.

moogfest.com

Moogfest is the synthesis of music, art and technology. Since 2004, Moogfest has brought together artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists, and musicians.

By day, Moogfest is a platform for conversation and experimentation. This mind-expanding conference attracts creative and technology professionals for three days of participatory programming in Durham, North Carolina. Each evening, Moogfest presents cutting edge music in venues throughout the city. Performing artists include early pioneers in electronic music, alongside pop and avant garde experimentalists of today.

Moogfest is a tribute to Dr. Robert Moog and the profound influence his inventions have had on how we hear the world. Over the last sixty years, Bob Moog and Moog Music have pioneered the analog synthesizer and other technology tools for artists. This exchange between engineer and musician is celebrated with a unique festival format where the creative process is understood as a collaboration among many people, across time and space, in commerce and culture.
