Eduardo Pinilla Gil BSc PhD, (University of Extremadura in Badajoz, Spain).
is a lecturer in Analytical Chemistry. He received his B.Sc. degree in chemistry (1987) at the University of Extremadura, and a Ph.D. in chemistry (1991) at the same university. In addition, he carried out research stays at the University of Cincinnati (OH, USA) and at the German Environmental Specimen Bank at Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany), and has been visiting lecturer at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (Chile). The main topic of his research work is the development of electro-analytical methods for the determination of heavy metals and other pollutants in environmental samples and biological fluids, with special focus on miniaturization and portability of analytical tools. He is also interested on novel sample pre-treatment techniques by ultrasonic energy, and statistical tools for environmental data interpretation.
