Parliament adopts circular economy report

EuropaBio keenly welcomes the adoption by the European Parliament of the own-initiative report of Finnish MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen on "Resource efficiency: moving towards a circular economy", yet cautions against the application of the cascading principle transversally and indiscriminately across the bioeconomy. FDA, EC & EMA hold hands

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Commission and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) have decided to reinforce their ongoing cooperative activities and strategic priorities for the next two years, including on rare diseases and biosimilars. Read more
Ministers slam GM import proposal

At a meeting on June 13, the majority of agriculture ministers expressed scepticism about the Commission’s proposal, particularly criticising the fact that the executive had not assessed the impact of the plan, and questioning how national bans could be compatible with the internal market rules as set out in the EU Treaty.
