Hey Norm's Friend!
I don't know about you, but this heat has had me hiding out indoors more than I usually do and I have been grateful for the recent cool down (and then back up...). I hope you're surviving the summer with a good book, a good beverage and a busy work schedule at air conditioned events! I recently had the pleasure of joining Compass Rose Video as a guest on their webinar series: 3 Common Video Marketing Mistakes and How to Avoid Them. This is a FREE series and the first webinar was this past Saturday, but don't worry you can still catch up. Jeany Park invited me to join the second webinar this coming Saturday to talk about staying on brand in video. So, today I thought I'd share with you my 3 Tips for Staying on Brand in video, online and everywhere you are!
- Be Consistent - Have you ever met someone after you found them online and discovered how different they are in real life? I think something people are often surprised at by me is that I'm THE SAME. I am a huge pop culture nerd, I love to talk about Hank, I occasionally swear like a sailor, and I love to learn about cool small businesses.
- Be Authentic - If you are an introvert or more conservative in your nature, then your video or online persona maybe shouldn't include the flailing of your hands for dramatic effect. Would you do that in person? Don't do it on video. And definitely don't do what you think you're "supposed to do", do what's you.
- Be Yourself - Says the woman who named her company after her dog...If you sign up for the webinar this weekend you'll see me being me. You'll see my super fun pop culture filled bookshelf, you'll see Hank! You'll see me, being me, except the PG version. Don't hide your tattoos, don't dress the way you think you're supposed to, be YOU, it's who we want to do business with.
If you're thinking about adding video to your website, I strongly recommend that you check out this great webinar series, and not just because it features yours truly! As always, if you have questions you know where to find me!
Woof!
Elizabeth & Hank
