In honor and with deepest gratitude to all the firefighters and fallers who gave and are giving their time, presence and life-force to the Sechelt Mine Fire.
The Relationship between the Five Elements

The five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water are not isolated; rather they work closely together and have their own internal orders and patterns. The rules that govern the five elements include a mutual generation cycle, a mutual restriction cycle, over restriction, reverse restriction and balance between generation and restriction.

Mutual generation cycle

This cycle refers to the manner in which the elements create one another. Wood easily burns and makes a fire. Fire produces ash, creating earth. The earth contains mineral from which metal is mined and extracted. When metal is heated and cooled, water droplets will be found over the metal as a result of condensation. Thus, metal creates water. Water promotes the growth of trees, which are wood. The cycle is cyclic and continually gives rise to change and transformation.

Yoga Teacher Training... Not Just for Teachers!
Have you been wondering if our upcoming YTT/Immersion program is for you because you aren't interested in teaching yoga? Some wonderful insight from a graduate of our 2013 program:

"If you are one of those people who is going to spend thousands of dollars on a retreat where you go away for a week, this is a billion times better than that. It's a great deal because its like a workshop at a huge yoga festival, one workshop after another learning about the koshas, nadis, chakras and lines of energy. There's so much to learn. A little smattering of sanskrit here and there doesn't hurt anybody and you learn about mythology, anatomy and alignment. It would benefit your personal practice and it's just something that's interesting and a fun journey to connect you through community. You don't have to teach, but its good value because people go to a retreat and spend all that money and they don't get all of that intel."
