Hope July 2015

No matter where you are or what you do, there are always a multitude of opportunities to be a blessing to others and change the world one heart at a time. As we continue to meet with people, hear their stories, journey alongside them, teach them, encourage them and support them we are reminded how sometimes the small things in life can have a great impact.

As rice bags are handed out to remote villages in Tanna Vanuatu; as people are taught simple hygiene lessons in Uganda; as the Gospel comes alive through teaching and instruction in Israel; a variety of avenues have allowed us to bring fresh hope to peoples lives.

Here are just a couple of testimonies we have received lately:
"Thank you for everything you have done for me. My life is beautiful because of you. Thank you."
Henry - Uganda

"We handed out rice to many of the villages and we thank you for your support and appreciate your help. Everywhere the word is thank you and thank you so much"
Shem - Tanna, Vanuatu

"I will never forget you in my life, you changed my life."
Aggrey - Zambia

As a rock hits the water and creates a ripple effect, join us to impact others through faith, health and education to bring life giving change.

Vanuatu

In March a devastating cyclone hit Vanuatu. One of the islands hardest hit was Tanna. This is a small island were we have been working for some time. The destruction has been huge. Tress, crops and houses were flattened. Four months on the need is still great. The immediate need is food as crops are being replanted. However the cost of food has skyrocketed and this is creating even more issues. As we seek to help villages, widows and the isolated by handing out kilos of rice, please join us as we continue supporting this community to bring basic needs and hope.

Australia

Here on our home soil, we have been continuing to inspire and encourage others to live truly, widely and deeply. A couple of months ago we ran a Hidden Treasures seminar to help people understand their personalities, learning style, abilities, love language and spiritual gifts. We have also been continuing to plant a church in Bungendore. This emerging church has grown this year to be a small committed group of 20-24 people. Heartfelt Hope is praying this group will continue to grow and begin to impact its community.

Uganda

Our medical clinics in Uganda are continuing to make a big impact within their communities. With two larger clinics or mini hospitals and two smaller clinics quite well established, we have begun to work on setting up a new clinic in a very remote area. We have already purchased a large block of land near Lake Victoria and built some toilets for community sanitation. Now bricks have been purchased to start building a clinic to service an extensive, remote area rife with tropical diseases, dysentery, typhoid and malaria just to name a few.

Donations

Recently we made the difficult decision to give up our tax deductible status due to changes being applied to charity organisations by our Government. Projects with tax deductibility status are strictly regulated by the Government and can only be approved if they address specific issues. Since we know the needs of the people we are partnering with extend beyond these categories, and we have a desire to bring faith & Godly hope in all we undertake, we have decided to forgo tax deductibility in favour of the freedom to be able to support our communities in a range of different ways.

Israel

Our recent spiritual retreat into Jordan & Israel has been hailed as a great success. Over a period of three weeks, 12 pilgrims began their journey in the desert of Jordan and stayed in Bedouin tents before crossing into the Promised Land. From here,a replica of the Tabernacle was visited as part of the Old Testament education, before retracing the steps of Jesus. We travelled from Bethlehem, to Nazareth, to Galilee and finally into Jerusalem as we learned more about the life and ministry of Jesus. It was an inspiring, and rich learning experience.

TRANSFORM

Our TRANSFORM short term mission trips are a great way to get involved, make a difference, get your hands dirty and bring hope to those who need it most. In 2016 we planning to take teams to Vanuatu, Uganda and Cambodia. We are also making plans for another spiritual retreat to Israel & Jordan in 2017. All teams are kept small and personal and the experience is life changing.
