A sculpture reveal for the School & Community Public Art Partnership will take place Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 am at the north end of Kohlmann Park, near the amphitheater. Join us in welcoming a new piece of art into the community, designed by WSR Middle School Students and constructed by the University of Northern Iowa’s Public Art Incubator. Chamber Awards Façade Improvement Grant
The 2015 Façade Grant was awarded to the Pour House by the Waverly Chamber Design and Beautification Committee. The Pour House, owned by David Grawe, did updates to their building including masonry work, tuck pointing, new windows on the upper story, and updated the back patio. They also updated signage on the front of their building. Façade Grants through the Waverly Chamber are awarded annually to businesses who apply for matching funding to preserve and restore existing buildings and storefronts. Folkerts Financial Strategies opened for business in February; their office is located at 410 W. Bremer Ave.  Mother and son team, Kathy and Adam Folkerts have over 24 years of combined experience in financial strategy. Folkerts have a strong focus on investing and advising and are excited to help those in Waverly and the surrounding communities with their financial needs.
Root offers a large line of all natural cosmetic products at affordable prices.  Owner and founder, Krista Dolash is a Wartburg grad and is taking the cosmetic industry by storm with her gluten free products.  Most of her products are made right here in Waverly, although Dolash has a large international customer base.  Root invites the community to stop in and check out their product or call them to schedule a makeover.  


In July the Waverly Ambassadors visited the Waverly Senior Center, Value Maxx Mattress and Edward Jones.  Join us in congratulating them for their business accomplishments.
 
In March the Waverly Senior Center brought on Kathy Schute as their new manager.  Kathy is a Waverly native and is passionate about helping seniors in Bremer County. The Senior Center is a vital part of Waverly, providing services and activities like weekly meals, coffee, bingo, ceramics, woodworking and so much more.
 
ValuMaxx Mattress opened for business in February; their store is located at 1281 4th St. NW, next to HyVee. ValuMaxx has six stores in Iowa and sells mattresses and bedroom furniture at affordable prices. If you are looking for a mattress be sure to stop in their new store and speak with one of their trained customer service representatives. 

Emily Wubbena is the new financial advisor at Edward Jones located at 513 W. Bremer Ave.  Edward Jones is a full service brokerage firm that offers a personal one on one approach to their clients. Wubbena is a Waverly native and looks forward to offering these financial services to the Waverly market.
