Here's another update regarding our 45-year reunion in Riverside the weekend of October 9-11.
There's less than a month until prices increase!
In order to encourage folks to get their tickets for the reunion early, we established an early purchase option - buy your tickets by September 1 and pay less than if you wait until later. Here are the prices before and after price hike:
- Main Reunion Single ticket - $75 / $82.50 (10% increase)
- Main Reunion Couples ticket - $145 / $155 (7% increase)
- Homecoming Tailgate ticket - $13 / $15 (15% increase)
Get your reservation and payment to me as soon as possible:
- By mail - download the invitation letter, print out the reservation form on the second page, complete it and mail to me with your payment
- Online - go to the Buy Tickets Online section of the reunion page and
- purchase tickets under "Tickets and Stuff" using your credit card and
- fill out the online reservation form
Mailed checks must be postmarked by September 1. On September 2, the online ticket option will be updated to reflect the higher prices.
Let's beat the bushes!
I've posted the current RSVP list with the names of those who have already purchased tickets and those who have informed me that they're unable to attend any of the events. I will update the list whenever I receive payments online or in the mail. Even if you've said you'll be attending, it's not official until you've paid.
Take a look at the list and see which of your friends are not on it... then contact them and encourage them to join us for a weekend of fun and memories! We set a lower attendance target for this reunion since it's not a once-a-decade event, but that's no excuse to wait another five years for the big 5-0 because...
Mortality has its downside.
I enjoy what I do to keep our class connected... otherwise, I wouldn't do it. However, it's becoming increasingly common for me to identify alumni - both personal friends of mine, and others who are not - who have died. I maintain a webpage of known deceased alumni, and the list has grown by 50% over the past five years alone, from 66 at the time of our 40-year reunion to 99 as of this writing (out of 1196 names associated with our class). That doesn't mean they've died in the past five years, just that we've become aware as these lost alumni are finally found, but not in a happy circumstance.
I won't make this point again this year, because I don't want to bum you out... but consider the potential consequences of skipping this reunion opportunity while waiting for our 50-year reunion in 2020. Some of your friends likely won't be around to see you five years from now, or worse yet, we'll be missing you instead.
Not attending? Send me a picture!
Even if you've already told me you're not attending, the least you can do is e-mail me a recent photo for inclusion in the electronic photo album that will be distributed on CD after the reunion. Just make sure it's between 2 to 3 MP, and I'll crop and edit it for inclusion. You can purchase it and the Bio/Address Book for $5 if you're not attending... it's the last option in the "Tickets and Stuff" drop down menu under the "Buy Tickets Online" link.
